SPRING TERM 2010
One week we held a Castles theme and the children came dressed as Knights and princesses and made their own shields and flags. We had a lot of fun activities connected with castles and ended by having a medieval feast where the children made their own bread shields and tried sword dips.
It was a snowy start to the Spring Term and we have all had fun playing in the snow and making
World Book Day was celebrated by the children bringing in their favourite stories for us to read.
Other activities planned for this term include looking for signs of Spring, going on a spring walk and various exciting Easter activities.
We had our annual performance of the Dragon Dance to celebrate Chinese New Year accompanied by drummers and dancers. The children sampled noodles and prawn crackers and made their own lucky bags filled with chocolate money.
Our theme has been recycling and the children have been busy collecting old boxes, packaging, plastic bottles etc and looking for the recycling logo before putting them all to good use. They came up with lots of good ideas about how we could reuse our ‘rubbish’ and we made some super 3-D models. We went for a walk to the recycling area in Alderton and took our own bottles to be recycled.
