Alderton Acorns is comprised of the Pre-School Group and the Baby and Toddler Group. These are run by separate committees under the same umbrella. Many parents and children attend and are involved in both groups.
Alderton Acorns is a Registered Charity (No 1052664), and is also registered and approved by Social Services. We are also a member of Gloucestershire Playgroup and Toddler Association (PATA).
Alderton Acorns meets at Alderton Village Hall, which is bright, spacious and centrally heated. There are special toilet facilities, a kitchen for cookery and preparation of healthy snacks for the children and two outside play areas. We also have our own large range of play equipment which is constantly being updated and added to.
Each Friday morning we run a Baby and Toddler Group from 10am until 12 noon for newborns
to school age - even bumps are welcome! This group is run by parents for parents.
The purpose of our group is to create an environment in which your children can be
stimulated, have fun and make friends…and so can you!!
We have a specific Code of Conduct so that everyone attending Alderton Acorns can
feel relaxed!
The Pre-School Group runs 4 mornings a week (Monday to Thursday) from 9am until 12
noon for children aged 2 years 9 months and up. Please view our Prospectus.

We run a Rota System to ensure enough staff are able to cover each session and to
keep costs to you down to a minimum. It is also an excellent way for you to fully
understand what your child does when he or she is in our care.
Accompanied Child Sessions - Introduced as of 1st April 2010, it is our hope that these sessions will provide an invaluable introduction to pre-school life. The aim of the session is to allow your child to become comfortable within our Pre-School environment, whilst leading up to a time of independence on reaching 2 years 9 months and “going solo”. As the title suggests you are required to stay with your child for the session. There will be a fee of £2.50 which is payable on invoice.
